Pediatric Acupuncture Growing in Popularity
Posted by Admin
As a specialist in acupuncture in Edmonton, I’ve seen this safe, effective treatment become increasingly popular over the last 10 years. Today, I’m noticing another trend—rapid growth in the use of acupuncture for children—and I predict that this growth is going to continue.
The health issues today’s children are experiencing are serious, heartbreaking, and getting worse. In fact, a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association reports that rates of chronic disease in children doubled between 1986 and 2006. The diseases these children are dealing with were once rare and are now all too common.
Frustrated with watching their children suffer, millions of parents are turning to pediatric acupuncture in search of relief. The good news is that they are finding that acupuncture works. Children who have dealt with the challenges of diseases ranging from allergies to autism are feeling better after just a few treatments. In some cases, just one acupuncture treatment makes a world of difference.
Children today are growing up surrounded by toxins, be it environmental, or food or even mental. Parents are realizing that using drugs that can have harmful side effects isn’t always the best solution, especially when the drugs only mask the symptoms rather than heal the child.
Pediatric acupuncture strengthens the immune system and balances the body, restoring the child to health, without side effects. It gets to the root of the problem rather than covering up the symptoms.
I believe that acupuncture has an important role to play in reducing the rates of chronic disease in our children, here in Edmonton and across North America.
